GPS Antenna Signal Splitter, Three Way, N Type, L1 and L2

GPS splitter used for powering active antenna splitting GPS signal between three receivers

Overview

GPS300 is a three way, passive GPS signal splitter ideal for splitting a GPS antenna signal between three (3) receivers while providing a DC current path to power a remotely located active GPS antenna from one receiver while blocking the DC path from the others. Furnished with N type female connectors all ports. A special feature of this unit is the 200 ohm internal load which provides a current drain for the GPS receivers not powering the active antenna. Some GPS receivers incorrectly sense an antenna fault when there is no current draw. The 200 ohm internal loads provide for a simulated antenna current drain which prevents receiver faulting. Max voltage rating at the DC blocked ports is 10 VDC; maximum current rating is 50 mA. Voltage and current rating of DC pass port is higher because of microstrip transmission line without LCR components.

Electrical

The heart of the unit is a precision designed and etched Wilkinson type microstrip circuit on a low loss, high frequency, dielectric substrate. Electrical performance is highlighted by 0.6 dB max insertion loss (above the -4.77dB power split), 18 dB min isolation, 1.30:1 max input VSWR and 1.25:1 max output port VSWR. Equal power split and symmetry is displayed by 0.2 dB amplitude balance and 3 degrees phase balance. Narrow band performance in L1 and L2 GPS bands will be even better. See 3 way GPS splitter test sweeps for details. DC blocks and 200 ohm internal loads are specially designed to be RF transparent with negligable effect on performance.

Mechanical

Mechanical features include precision CNC, brass, 50 ohm N type female coaxial connectors with tri alloy plating to insure tarnish resistance and low PIM operation. Connector pins are gold-plated phosphor bronze for reliability and low contact resistance. Virgin electrical grade PTFE support insulators captivate the contact pins enabling trouble free coaxial connector mating. Long term operation and superior shielding is assured by the rugged CNC machined aluminum housing with clear chemical film finish. Secure mounting is provided by two 0.125" diameter (3.18 mm) through holes. RoHS construction includes no-lead solder and a finish free of hexavalent chromium.

Physical

Housing dimensions are 2.98" wide by 2.98" deep by 0.88" high (75.7 x 75.7 x 22.2 mm). The N-type female (jack) connectors extend 0.65" (16.5 mm) from the housing. Operating temperature range is from -65°C to +85°C. Weight is 346 grams. See 3 way N type GPS splitter outline drawing for more information.

Applications

Model GP300 is a 3-way, passive, type N, GNSS splitter covering all frequencies from 1000 to 2000 MHz with best-in-class performance for GPS L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, GLONASS and Galileo global navigation satellite positioning systems.

Options / Additional Models

DC Blocking: Two DC blocking versions of this 3 way GPS splitter combiner available without the 200 ohm internal loads:

PD5030: DC pass 1 port, DC block two ports. Typically used for powering an active antenna through the DC pass port of the RF power divider splitter.

PD5032: DC block 3 ports. Typically used in combining applications to prevent passing DC to sum port or adjacent ports.

Standard RoHS Model: A standard RoHS compliant version of this three way power combiner divider is available passing DC current through all ports. PD2030
