PD5316 - Features & Benefits


PD5316 is a DC blocking, sixteen way, RF broadband, 50 ohm, power divider, power combiner furnished with SMA type coaxial connectors. The passive Wilkinson design passes RF and 10 MHz while blocking DC current at all ports. Max voltage rating at the DC blocked ports is 50 VDC. All wireless band applications in the frequency range from 698 to 2700 MHz are covered with best in class RF performance. The RoHS compliant PD5316 is a bidirectional device capable of 40 W max microwave input power level in both power splitter and combiner apps. The heart of the unit is a precision designed and etched Wilkinson type microstrip circuit on a low loss, high frequency, dielectric substrate. Electrical performance is highlighted by 1.8 dB max insertion loss (above the 12.04 dB power split), 20 dB min isolation, 1.50:1 max input VSWR and 1.20:1 max output port VSWR. Equal power split and symmetry is displayed by 0.6 dB amplitude balance and 10 degrees phase balance. Narrow band RF performance over your frequency range may be even better. Mechanical features include precision CNC, brass, 50 ohm SMA female coaxial connectors with tri alloy plating to insure tarnish resistance and low PIM operation. Connector pins are gold plated phosphor bronze for reliability and low contact resistance. Virgin electrical grade PTFE support insulators captivate the contact pins enabling trouble free coaxial connector mating. Long term operation and superior shielding is assured by the rugged CNC machined aluminum housing with clear chemical film finish. Secure mounting is provided by four 0.125" diameter (3.18 mm) through holes. RoHS construction includes no-lead solder and a finish free of hexavalent chromium.


Housing dimensions are 15.98" wide by 3.48" deep by 0.88" high (405.9 x 88.4 x 22.2 mm). The SMA female (jack) connectors extend 0.44" (11.1 mm) from the housing. The PD5316 16-way, SMA jack, DC blocking, power splitter combiner is ideal for a wide range of wireless radio frequency microwave applications on both transmit and receive sides, ranging from amplifier sharing & receiver combining to antenna splitting, and is deployed world wide in networks encompassing 700 MHz Public Safety Band, 800 MHz cellular, GSM 850, 900, 1800 & 1900, PCS 1900, 1 GHz to 2 GHz L-Band, GPS, W-CDMA-3G, UMTS, TETRA, RFID, IEEE802.11b/g, 2.45 GHz ISM, Wi Fi and 2.3 GHz & 2.5 GHz WiMAX.

Options / Additional Models

PD5116: 1 port passes RF, 10 MHz, and DC. Other ports block DC. Typically used to power an active antenna through the DC pass port while blocking DC current from other connected devices.

GPS Splitter: 12-way GPS antenna signal splitter covering L1, L2, GLONASS and Galileo GNSS global navigation satellite system positioning frequency bands.

GPS161: 16way SMA GPS signal splitter, DC pass one port - providing a means to power an active GPS antenna - other ports DC blocked and furnished with 200 ohm internal loads to simulate antenna pre-amp current draw, preventing the GPS receiver from sensing antenna fault.
